On the occasion of Art Paris, LACLAUX unveils an exceptional piece, the result of an exclusive collaboration with artist Tony Jouanneau.

The iconic After Club armchair is revealed in a new light, adorned with a crinoline in Manuel Canovas silk, hand-painted with plant-based ink using the traditional Hikizome technique and enhanced by the ancestral Japanese art of Shibori folding.

A functional and unique artwork, where contemporary design meets exceptional craftsmanship and the poetry of materials.

It was during the 2024 Paris Creation Prize — for which Chloé Nègre chaired the jury of the Métiers d’Art category — that the encounter between Tony Jouanneau and LACLAUX took place.

The artist’s sensitivity and unique approach to materials deeply impressed the architect and designer.

Sharing a common vision and values, LACLAUX and Tony Jouanneau decided to collaborate on a new, exclusive edition of the After Club armchair, merging their outstanding craftsmanship.

The After Club x Tony Jouanneau armchair will be on view at the French Design Art Edition Collective Exhibition, which brings together more than twenty unique or limited-edition pieces created through collaborations between designers and French manufacturers.
